DIGITAL WORK: Equatorial – a gamified training company taking over their niche
Posted by Raluca Turcanasu on / 0 Comments
Equatorial is one of the clients I am proud to have worked for. They develop online & offline gamified trainings for multinational companies and have already expanded in a few other European markets. HR people love it and it truly impacts the way employees work together and their efficiency. But please read more on their websites.
Rusu+Bortun is their long-term agency partner, helping with a handful of deliverables across the year. But the largest and most interesting projects we did were the 2 websites – the corporate one and the project one.
Equatorial.ro is the corporate website and it is meant to be as playful as they are. It aims to show their values and beliefs through a number of small „experiments”. Several programmers worked elbow to elbow to construct it and it was partly built in Ajax (which turned out not to be the best overall solution…especially when it comes to social sharing and loading).
Here are some snippets:
The training company’s core services are expressed as funny gifs, like those here:
The GIFS were crafted by aNDRA from Skeptic Dog Animation.
At a second upgrade, we also launched a gamified blog – Ludoteca (the playful library) –where the content creators write about the benefits of combining business models with game models, give such examples and all in all inspire readers. This blog experience is also gamified: readers can fill in a quick survey at the end of each article and earn points, which can get them books, classes or magazine subscriptions.
EquatorialMarathon.com is the website of the main project targeted at large companies. The front-end developer constructed a nice JavaScript animation engine for the interactive elements. I worked with him and the designer and web copywriter to make this presentation website look as funky and clean as possible.
