Aveiro is said to be the Venice of Portugal, for its numerous channels. It is located in central Portugal, and it’s the second most populous city in the region, after Coimbra.
Building do have the characteristic colourfulness of Portuguese architecture, but with a slight own style.
You can easily have a one day trip in Aveiro, especially from Porto. You’ll have all the needed time to do some walking & exploration.
Boats or gondolas have traditional paintings, of a Portuguese manner. The one above reads:
Do you remember my bagpipe, now?
The painting on the boat above reads:
We only have the nostalgia.
